
The night leading into Thursday was dry and nearly clear, with light winds and the potential for fog to form in some areas. The day will begin with sunshine, but by afternoon, clouds will gradually increase from the west, bringing short periods of rain and possible thunderstorms, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The weather will become windier, with southwesterly to westerly gusts reaching 15–19 m/s. Thursday is expected to be the hottest day of the summer so far, with temperatures climbing to +27°C to +32°C across almost the entire country, except coastal areas.
A yellow-level heat warning is in effect.
On Friday, variable cloud cover is expected, with occasional light rain in some locations. A moderate to moderately strong west-southwest wind will blow, with gusts reaching 15–18 m/s, but it will gradually calm down during the day. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +12°C to +15°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +18°C to +21°C. It will be slightly cooler in coastal regions, where temperatures will only reach +15°C to +18°C.
Over the weekend, the heat will subside, and temperatures will be milder, ranging from +16°C to +24°C. Both Saturday and Sunday will see scattered showers. Early next week, weather conditions are likely to be dominated by cyclonic activity again, bringing more rain.
