The day will remain mostly cloudy — while only light rain is expected in some locations in the morning, a new precipitation zone will approach Latvia starting midday, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Rain is expected in central and eastern parts of the country, with locally heavy downpours and thunderstorms. A light to moderate north or northeast wind will blow, and daytime temperatures will rise to between +17°C and +22°C.
On Thursday, the skies will remain mostly cloudy, although temporary clearings are possible in Kurzeme. Rain is expected across most of the country, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms possible overnight in some areas. A moderate to moderately strong northerly or northeasterly wind is expected, with gusts reaching up to 15 m/s in the western part of the country during the day. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +13°C to +16°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +17°C to +22°C.
Rainy weather will continue throughout the rest of the week, and there is a possibility of intense thunderstorms forming. However, meteorologists note that even minor shifts in cyclone movement can significantly alter the forecast, so the public is advised to follow the latest updates. During these days, warmer air masses will flow into Latvia from the southeast, which may slightly raise air temperatures.
