Rain is expected across much of the country, with heavy downpours likely in the eastern regions during the night and in central and eastern regions during the day, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Fog may form in parts of eastern Latvia, reducing visibility. Winds will be light to moderate from the north and northeast, with gusts reaching 15–16 m/s in western parts of the country during the day. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +13…+17°C, while daytime highs will range from +15…+20°C, reaching +21…+24°C in the far southeast.
On Friday, the skies will remain mostly cloudy, with occasional clear spells in some areas. Rain is expected in most of the country, with heavy showers and possible thunderstorms in central and eastern regions. Fog may form in some areas during the night.
Winds will continue from the north and northeast, with gusts up to 15 m/s, and potentially stronger gusts during thunderstorms.
Nighttime temperatures will remain between +14…+18°C. Daytime temperatures will rise to +21…+26°C, though it will be a few degrees cooler in some coastal areas.
Over the weekend, the weather will stay mostly cloudy, but rainfall will decrease. Precipitation is mainly expected overnight into Saturday in the eastern part of the country, where heavy downpours are possible.
A warmer air mass will gradually move into Latvia from the southeast, slightly raising temperatures. On Sunday and into the beginning of next week, daytime highs in many areas are expected to reach +25…+28°C.
