
On Monday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, though in some places the skies will clear, allowing the sun to shine. Rain is expected overnight in parts of Kurzeme and northern Vidzeme, with local heavy showers and possible thunderstorms, while during the day only light rain is expected in some areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The southern and southwesterly wind will gradually shift to blow from the west and southwest, at light to moderate strength, while at night it will be gusty along the coast. Air temperatures will stay between +14°C and +18°C both at night and during the day, though in the southeast the air will warm up to +18°C to +21°C during the first half of the day. As colder air masses move in during the day, temperatures will drop to +11°C to +15°C.
On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with rain expected across most of the country, and occasional thunder in some areas. A light to moderate wind will turn to blow from the west and northwest during the day, reaching 15–18 m/s in gusts along the coast and at times inland. At night, temperatures will fall to +6°C to +13°C,
while during the day they will rise only to +14°C to +17°C.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre notes that Wednesday’s weather will remain similar – sunshine mixed with clouds and rain expected in some areas, mainly in central and eastern regions during the day. A light to moderate wind will continue from the west and northwest, remaining gusty along the coast during the first half of the night, with gusts up to 20 m/s along the southern shores of the Gulf of Riga.
At night, temperatures will drop to +3°C to +8°C in many places, with ground frost down to 0°C possible, while the coast will remain milder at +8°C to +12°C. Daytime highs will reach only +11°C to +15°C.
In the second half of the week, as high-pressure influence strengthens, precipitation will subside and the weather will become drier.
Temperatures will remain similar to previous days – at night dropping to +3°C to +7°C, with ground frost observed in some places, while the coast will stay milder, and during the day the thermometer will not rise above +17°C.
