On Friday, the 10th of October, occasional rain is expected throughout the central and eastern regions, with isolated thunderstorms possible during the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the night, fog will form in parts of the eastern regions, significantly reducing visibility.
A moderate to moderately strong southwesterly and westerly wind will prevail, gradually shifting to the northwest during the second half of the night, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s near the coast. The air temperature at night will drop to +5…+10°C (slightly warmer along the coast), while during the day the mercury will rise to +9…+14°C.
In the second half of the night and early Saturday morning, rain clouds will pass over the country, bringing occasional showers.
On Sunday, a new rain zone will move in from the north, bringing more prolonged precipitation.
While stronger wind gusts will mainly be observed along the coast on October 11, by Sunday the northwesterly wind will intensify across much of Latvia.
Nighttime temperatures will mostly stay between +4…+9°C, although in the eastern regions early Saturday morning temperatures may drop to around +2°C. During the weekend, daytime highs will range from +10…+15°C.
Looking ahead to the new workweek, rain is expected every day in at least some parts of Latvia, though its intensity will vary.
On Monday, the wind will remain gusty, gradually easing by Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will stay below +10°C, while during the day, temperatures will rise by a few degrees.
