During the day on Wednesday, cloud cover will gradually decrease, and dry weather will prevail. With light winds, fog will form in many parts of the country during the night and may persist in some areas into the morning, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At night, the minimum air temperature will range between +1°C and -3°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +7°C to +12°C, and +3°C to +7°C along the coast.
Weather conditions will remain unchanged on Thursday — no precipitation is expected, and fog may form in some areas. Air temperatures will also remain within similar ranges.
As a cyclone approaches from the northeast, weather conditions will change
on Thursday night into Friday. As a precipitation zone moves across the country, rain and wet snow are expected across most of the territory. Precipitation will ease during the day.
In the second half of the week, temperatures will remain similar — at night dropping to between +2°C and -3°C, while daytime highs may reach up to +11°C in some places.
Dry and calm weather conditions are expected to continue over the weekend.
