During the night of Thursday, the 14th of May, the sky will remain mostly cloudy, with clearer conditions only in some places, while during the day eastern parts of the country will experience variable cloud cover, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Light rain is expected in some areas overnight, while from the afternoon rain will spread across western regions, with localized thunderstorms also possible.
A light to moderate southerly wind will blow, and during thunderstorms strong gusts may occur in some areas. Overnight temperatures will fall to between +3°C and +7°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +12°C to +17°C.
On Friday, skies will remain partly cloudy. In western Latvia, rain is expected in many places overnight and in some areas during the day. Thunderstorms are possible locally, and heavy downpours may occur in some places overnight.
Winds will remain light,
although strong gusts are expected during thunderstorms in the first half of the night.
Overnight temperatures will drop to +3°C to +8°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +16°C to +21°C, although in northern Kurzeme they will range between +11°C and +16°C.
On Saturday, skies will be partly cloudy. Rain is expected in many places during the day, while at night precipitation is forecast only locally. Thunderstorms may also develop in eastern regions during the afternoon. Winds will remain light.
Nighttime temperatures will range from +7°C to +10°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +15°C to +20°C, with coastal areas of Kurzeme remaining cooler at +10°C to +15°C.
On Sunday and at the beginning of next week, temperatures are expected to remain similar to those at the end of this week, with daytime temperatures in many areas again reaching around +20°C. Rain clouds will continue to move across Latvia, and thunderstorms may occur locally.
