Clouds will cover the sky on Friday night, gradually clearing from the northwest during the day. Short periods of rain are expected in some central and eastern regions. Winds will remain light. Overnight temperatures will fall to between +13°C and +15°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to between +18°C and +23°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Saturday will bring mostly sunny weather with only a small amount of cloud cover and no significant precipitation. On Sunday, however, skies will gradually become overcast, and rain is expected across much of the country from the morning onwards, with local thunderstorms also possible.
On Saturday night, temperatures will drop to between +9°C and +14°C. With light winds, fog will form in many areas. During the day, temperatures will climb to between +22°C and +27°C, although coastal areas will remain a few degrees cooler.
On Sunday night, temperatures are expected to range between +14°C and +19°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +20°C to +25°C, again somewhat lower along the coast.
Next week, changing weather conditions are expected as cyclones and anticyclones interact.
Dry periods will alternate with wetter days. The beginning of the week is forecast to remain mostly dry, with only isolated light showers. However, from midweek onwards, rain clouds are expected to become more frequent, occasionally bringing thunderstorms.
According to current forecasts, Līgo Day on the 23rd of June is likely to remain relatively calm and largely dry. However, during Jāņi Night, a broad precipitation zone is expected to approach Latvia. Rain is forecast to spread across much of the country during the second half of the night and continue into Jāņi Day.
Forecasters emphasize that weather conditions for the Midsummer celebrations may still change, and residents are encouraged to follow the latest forecasts and weather updates.
