Thursday will begin with sunny weather, but from midday clouds will gradually move in from the west, bringing brief light showers to some areas during the afternoon. A light to moderate westerly wind will blow. Daytime temperatures will rise to +19°C to +24°C, while coastal areas will remain a few degrees cooler, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The weekend will begin with warm and mostly dry weather. On Friday and Saturday, skies will be partly cloudy, with occasional short-lived showers in some locations. With light winds prevailing, fog is expected to develop in certain areas during the night into Saturday.
Night-time temperatures will fall to +11°C to +15°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +19°C to +24°C. Saturday is expected to be a few degrees warmer, although cooler conditions will continue along the Kurzeme coast.
On Sunday and at the beginning of next week, rain clouds will continue to appear from time to time.
Rain is expected across much of the country on Sunday, and thunderstorms are also possible. Daytime temperatures will remain summery, with some areas reaching +25°C. Night-time temperatures will stay mild, ranging between +12°C and +17°C.
Midsummer Eve (Līgo) and Jāņi Day are expected to remain pleasantly warm and summery. However, a new cyclone is forecast to approach the region, increasing the possibility of rain during the holiday period.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre updates its forecasts several times a day. Residents are therefore encouraged to follow the latest forecasts and weather warnings as the holiday approaches.
