Russian state television has reportedly withheld footage showing the scale of the fires that engulfed Wildberries warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions following Ukrainian drone strikes, according to Dialog.ua. The warehouses were reportedly being used to supply Russia’s military-industrial complex.
News broadcasts on Russian state television did not show photographs or video of the large fires in Elektrostal and Kotovsk. Instead, pro-Kremlin broadcasters relied on screenshots of statements published by Russian officials on social media.
No footage of the burning warehouses appeared on the state-owned Rossiya 1 television channel or on other pro-Kremlin broadcasters, including Channel One and NTV.
Meanwhile, social media continues to fill with new photographs and videos showing the scale of the destruction caused by the fires at both warehouse sites.
Employees at the Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal claimed that management refused to allow them to evacuate the building after it caught fire following the drone strike.
According to the report, seven people were killed at the Wildberries warehouse in Kotovsk, in Russia’s Tambov region, while one person died following the attack on the warehouse in Elektrostal, in the Moscow region. At least 86 people were injured, including 25 in Kotovsk and 61 in the Moscow region.
