The centre of the cyclone will remain over Latvia on Thursday, although the heaviest rainfall has already passed, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the day, cumulus clouds will continue to develop, bringing intermittent showers to much of the country and thunderstorms in some areas. Winds will generally remain light across Latvia, although northerly gusts along the coast will still reach 20–22 m/s. Daytime temperatures will rise to only +14°C to +19°C.
Overnight into Friday, strong winds will persist near the coast before easing during the day, when light winds are expected to dominate. On Friday, scattered showers are still likely, mainly in southern Latvia, with a chance of thunderstorms. Fog may also form in some areas overnight. Temperatures will range from +10°C to +16°C at night and +18°C to +22°C during the day.
The weekend will remain mostly cloudy and rainy, but warmer air is expected to move into Latvia on Sunday. As a result, temperatures will increase during the first half of next week, with daytime highs reaching +20°C to +25°C across much of the country.
