Rain clouds will move across all regions of Latvia on Thursday and Friday, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms possible in some areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will strengthen on Thursday and become gusty along the coast, with gusts reaching up to 15 metres per second. On Friday, winds will ease again, with light to moderate southerly winds expected. Fog will form in some areas during the night and morning hours, reducing visibility.
Overnight temperatures will fall to between plus eleven and plus sixteen degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach between plus sixteen and plus twenty-one degrees. On Friday, some areas will be a few degrees warmer, with temperatures reaching between plus eighteen and plus twenty-three degrees.
No significant changes in weather conditions are expected over the weekend. Temperatures will remain moderate, with rain in many areas and localised thunderstorms also possible, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will be light to moderate, predominantly from the southwest and west.
The beginning of next week will remain rainy. As the influence of high pressure strengthens later in the week, skies will clear more frequently and conditions will become drier, although temperatures are expected to remain broadly similar to those recorded in the preceding days.
