Brief rain is expected in some areas overnight, but from the morning onwards rain will become widespread across Latvia, with heavy and possibly even very heavy downpours and thunderstorms in some places, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Wednesday, skies will remain mostly cloudy, while on Thursday sunshine will appear only in some areas. Brief rain will continue across much of the country on Wednesday, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in some places. During the first half of the night, very heavy rainfall will also be possible in eastern regions.
Rainy weather will continue on Thursday, with thunderstorm clouds still developing locally in the east. Fog will form in some areas during the night and morning. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail, shifting to south-westerly and southerly winds on Thursday.
Temperatures will remain similar to Tuesday, although the night into Thursday will be slightly cooler, with temperatures falling to +10…+14°C in many areas.
Towards the end of the first week of September, further areas of precipitation will continue to cross Latvia, while winds will also become gusty on Sunday. Daytime temperatures will reach +14…+19°C, with overnight lows generally ranging between +10°C and +15°C.
