On Tuesday, the 8th of September, sunny spells will alternate with clouds, bringing brief rain to some eastern areas overnight and to parts of western and central Latvia in the afternoon, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Fog will form in some eastern areas during the night and morning. Light to moderate southerly winds will prevail, becoming gusty along the coast during the day. Overnight temperatures will fall to +9°C to +12°C, while the coast will be warmer at +13°C to +16°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to +18°C to +23°C.
Brief rain is expected in some areas overnight into Wednesday and across many parts of the country during the day. Fog will form in parts of Kurzeme during the second half of the night.
Winds will mostly be light and variable, although moderate southerly to south-westerly winds will prevail in some coastal areas. Overnight temperatures on Wednesday will remain between +11°C and +16°C, while daytime highs will reach +18°C to +23°C, rising to as much as +25°C in parts of the south-east.
Thursday will bring more cloud cover, with prolonged rain expected across most of the country
and heavy rainfall possible in some areas during the day. Light winds will once again prevail, but they will gradually strengthen in the afternoon and become gusty. Overnight temperatures will fall to +13°C to +16°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +14°C to +19°C and as high as +20°C to +24°C in eastern regions.
Towards the end of the working week, atmospheric pressure may increase, resulting in less precipitation. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly and will remain broadly similar to those recorded at the beginning of the week.
