Next year’s state budget is very good, Finance Minister Arvils Ašeradens (New Unity) said in an interview with TV3’s program 900 Seconds on Tuesday.
“Considering the circumstances, in my opinion it is a very, very good budget,” the minister stated, while also admitting that the pre-election process has influenced the 2026 budget.
Ašeradens added that the state budget for next year is appropriate for the current challenges.
The draft state budget for 2026 and the medium-term budget framework are scheduled to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on the 14th of October. The 2026 budget law package is expected to be submitted to the Saeima on the 15th of October.
