On Friday, light rain is expected only during the first half of the night in eastern regions, while the day will pass without precipitation, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
A light to moderate southerly wind will blow. During the night and in the morning, fog will form in some areas, reducing visibility. Saturday will also be dry, with partly cloudy skies across most of the country, although cloud cover will be greater in western regions. At night, air temperatures will drop to between -3°C and +3°C, while during the day
temperatures in some areas will reach +9°C to +13°C; along the coast it will be a few degrees cooler.
On Sunday and at the beginning of the new week, weather conditions will again be influenced by cyclonic activity, and light rain is expected in some areas. During cloudy nights, temperatures will mostly fall to between +1°C and -4°C. On Sunday, as skies clear, temperatures in some places may still rise to +15°C, but in the following days maximum temperatures will be a few degrees lower.
During the night of 29 March, the transition to daylight saving time will take place — clocks will be set one hour forward, resulting in longer daylight hours in the evening.
