On Friday and Saturday, skies will be mostly partly cloudy, with no precipitation expected, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. A light to moderate south-westerly to westerly wind will blow.
During the night and early morning hours, fog will thicken in many areas. Overnight temperatures will drop to 0…–5°C, while during the day the air will warm to +4…+9°C. Slightly cooler weather is expected in south-eastern regions and in some coastal areas.
On Sunday, mostly clear and dry weather is forecast. In eastern parts of the country the sky will be cloudier, though sunshine is still expected at times. Fog may again form in some places during the night and morning, and winds will remain light. Night-time temperatures will fall to 0…–5°C, and in south-eastern areas even –5…–9°C. During the day temperatures will rise to +7…+12°C,
although south-eastern regions and many coastal areas will be slightly cooler at +3…+7°C.
In the first half of next week, a warmer air mass will move into Latvia, and atmospheric pressure will increase, bringing warmer conditions with fewer clouds. Winds will remain light. Slight frost is still expected at night in the eastern part of the country, but during the day temperatures will mostly reach around +5°C, and in some areas, with bright sunshine, may exceed +10°C.
