At the beginning of the week, stable and calm weather conditions are expected — sunshine will alternate with clouds, light winds will prevail, and the weather will be dry, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the second half of the week, weather conditions will become more varied — cloud cover will increase, rain is expected in some areas, and both nights and days will become progressively warmer.
Over the past weekend, temperatures in some parts of Latvia reached +14…+16°C, while in parts of Europe significantly higher temperatures were recorded midweek — with thermometers reaching as high as +25…+30°C, meteorologists report.
During the first half of the week, weather conditions will be influenced by an anticyclone — light winds will blow,
sunshine will appear at times during the day, and no significant precipitation is expected.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre notes that fog will thicken in eastern parts of the country on Tuesday night. Nighttime temperatures will still drop slightly below 0°C in some places, but the days will be warm — on Monday temperatures will reach +10…+14°C, while on Tuesday and Wednesday they will mostly rise to +12…+17°C, although in some areas along the Gulf coast it will remain a few degrees cooler.
Later in the week, weather conditions will change — rain clouds will pass over Latvia, bringing precipitation. Nights, and closer to the weekend also days, will become warmer. Light winds will persist.
