Cloud cover will remain variable across Latvia on Tuesday and Wednesday, with rain expected in many areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the night leading into Tuesday, rain is forecast in many parts of the country, while during the afternoon only isolated brief showers are expected.
On Wednesday, rain will occur periodically in central and eastern regions, and later in the afternoon also in some western areas. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible locally.
Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail, but on Wednesday wind gusts across the entire country are expected to strengthen significantly, reaching 15–19 meters per second.
Nighttime temperatures will fall to between +8°C and +13°C.
On Tuesday, daytime temperatures will still rise to between +14°C and +19°C, but Wednesday will bring noticeably cooler weather, with temperatures reaching only +10°C to +15°C.
On Thursday, weather conditions will continue to be influenced by a cyclone. Skies will remain partly cloudy, and rain is expected in eastern Latvia, with isolated thunderstorms possible during the first half of the night.
Moderate to moderately strong westerly and northwesterly winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15–18 meters per second during the first half of the night and again from midday onward.
Nighttime temperatures will drop further to between +6°C and +10°C,
while daytime temperatures will rise only to +10°C to +15°C.
Toward the very end of May, the influence of an anticyclone will gradually increase. Cloud cover will decrease, winds will gradually weaken and become light by Friday, and temperatures will rise again.
By Sunday, temperatures in some places could reach as high as +22°C. The weekend is expected to be sunny and dry.
