Cloudy skies with occasional clear spells are expected across Latvia on Wednesday, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Clouds will bring brief rain showers in some areas, while isolated thunderstorms are also possible locally.
Moderate to moderately strong northwesterly and westerly winds will blow throughout the country. During the second half of the night, wind gusts will strengthen to 15–17 meters per second, and during the day strong gusty winds will spread across a wider part of Latvia, reaching 15–19 meters per second.
Nighttime temperatures will fall to between +7°C and +11°C, while daytime temperatures will rise only to +10°C to +15°C.
On Thursday, weather conditions will continue to be influenced by a cyclone.
Variable cloud cover is expected, and rain is forecast in some areas, mainly in central and eastern regions. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.
Moderate to moderately strong northwesterly and westerly winds will continue, with gusts reaching 15–18 meters per second.
Overnight temperatures will drop to between +6°C and +10°C, while daytime temperatures will again rise only to around +10°C to +15°C.
Toward the end of May, the strong gusty winds will gradually weaken. Although gusts along the Gulf coast could still reach 15–17 meters per second on Friday evening, lighter to moderate westerly winds are expected during the day.
The weekend will bring calmer winds overall. Light rain is still expected in some areas, but temperatures will become warmer compared with the middle of the week, with thermometers in some places reaching +20°C.
