Tuesday will be mostly sunny, although clouds will occasionally develop, especially in the eastern parts of the country. Brief light showers are expected only in isolated areas of eastern Latvia. Winds will remain light. Daytime temperatures will reach 24 to 29 degrees Celsius, while coastal areas will be slightly cooler at 21 to 24 degrees, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Wednesday, cloud cover will increase from midday as a precipitation zone moves across the country. Rain is expected in many western regions, with a risk of thunderstorms and heavy downpours in some areas. Fog may develop overnight and during the morning. Night-time temperatures will range from 13 to 19 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will reach 24 to 30 degrees. Coastal areas will again remain a few degrees cooler.
Rain will continue across much of Latvia on Thursday night, while during the day precipitation will mainly affect the eastern part of the country. During the first half of the night, eastern Latvia may still experience thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall. Skies will gradually clear from the west during the day. Light to moderate westerly winds are expected. Overnight temperatures will fall to 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures reaching 20 to 25 degrees.
By the end of the week, the influence of a cyclone will bring more cloud cover and precipitation to larger parts of Latvia, with thunderstorms expected in some areas. The weather will become noticeably cooler, and over the weekend daytime temperatures are expected to remain below 20 degrees Celsius across most of the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
