Monday night will be partly cloudy, with isolated light showers possible in western Latvia, while the day will remain mostly sunny and dry, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Winds will be light. Overnight temperatures will fall to 17 to 21 degrees Celsius, with a tropical night expected in some central parts of the country, where temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees Celsius. During the day, temperatures will rise to 27 to 32 degrees Celsius, although coastal areas will remain slightly cooler at 22 to 26 degrees Celsius. The ultraviolet (UV) radiation index is forecast to be high.
On Tuesday, a cloud band moving in from the west will bring scattered showers, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms expected in some areas. Winds will remain light, while haze may develop overnight in isolated locations. Night-time temperatures will range from 16 to 21 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs reaching 23 to 28 degrees Celsius, remaining a few degrees cooler along much of the coast.
Forecasters say Wednesday will begin with partly cloudy skies, but cloud cover will increase during the afternoon, bringing rain to parts of western and central Latvia. Light winds will continue, and fog may form overnight in some western regions. Overnight temperatures will fall to 13 to 16 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will reach 24 to 29 degrees Celsius. Coastal areas and parts of Kurzeme will be cooler, with temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius.
During the second half of the week, the influence of cyclones will increase, bringing more cloud cover and more widespread rainfall, including thunderstorms in some places. Cooler weather is expected to follow, with daytime temperatures across most of Latvia remaining below 20 degrees Celsius by the weekend, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
