On Thursday, brief showers are expected in many parts of Latvia. After the rain, cloudy skies will gradually clear from the west. Winds will remain light, and daytime temperatures will reach 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Towards the end of the week, the influence of a cyclone will bring more cloud cover and widespread precipitation. From the middle of the night on Friday, a band of rain will move across the country from the west. Rain is expected overnight in many western and central regions, spreading to the eastern parts of Latvia during the day. Thunderstorms and heavy downpours are possible in some areas.
Rainy conditions will continue throughout the weekend. Winds will strengthen on Friday, with gusts reaching 15–18 metres per second along the coast during the afternoon, and blustery conditions are expected to persist through the weekend. The weather will become noticeably cooler, with daytime temperatures generally ranging between 19 and 24 degrees Celsius.
The start of next week will remain similar, with frequent rainfall and daytime temperatures in many parts of Latvia struggling to rise above 20 degrees Celsius.
